the Week in Rock for Hunger
>> Sunday, February 1, 2009
What an exciting week for Rock for Hunger last week. Just about everyday there was something going on. We were so busy that it was hard to keep up with the Blog. However, it is time to make it up today by getting the week in Rock for Hunger up early before all of you go see the Super Bowl. Any bets for winners? Here is what we have going on this week for you to be the change!
MONDAY-FRIDAY – Tutors & Meals
We have plenty of volunteers on Monday nights which is amazing. If anyone has the opportunity to go to Tutors & Meals, please volunteer with the New Image Youth Center and tutor a less fortunate child and assist boosting their literacy and mathematics skills. Every day of the week from 3pm-6pm you can tutor a child. To sign-up go to our website or contact Angela Griner: angelagriner@gmail.com.
MONDAY – Food Sharing
Almost there, it’s our 99th consecutive food sharing for those counting down to number 100! To sign up visit our website or e-mail Ben: bbergholtz@rockforhunger.org.
ATTENTON: This week we will be at the Blue tables and chairs on the corner of Central Blvd and Eola Drive due to Super Bowl construction on our normal spot. The times will be the same as always 6:45pm-8pm.
MONDAY – Conversation with the Wailers
The legendary band The Wailers (Bob Marley & the Wailers) stopped by Orlando last night. I got a chance to talk to their current lead singer Elan. Check out the Blog to see this video.
WEDNESAY – Intern Meeting
Rock for Hunger Interns are meeting to continue working on the Spring Concert (March 12th), Bowl-a-Thon (April 11th), our first Field Trip for the kids, Talk 4 Hunger, UCF Rock for Hunger week, and much more.
THURSDAY – Artist of the Week
Rock for Hunger Fest 3 performing artist Ambertone took the title last week for the Artist of the Week. Who will it be this week?
SATURDAY – Board of Directors Meeting
Finally! Our Board of Directors are meeting this Saturday from 10am-11:30am. Let’s see if we can get these guys excited and supercharged again with all the great things that are going on within Rock for Hunger.
