the Week in Rock for Hunger

>> Monday, November 17, 2008

Thank you all once again for being part of Rock for Hunger Fest 3!!! We have a lot of exciting things going on within Rock for Hunger, so let’s get straight to it:

MONDAY – Food Sharing for the Homeless @ Lake Eola
Obviously this already passed, but tonight was our first food sharing after Rock for Hunger Fest 3, and it was great! We had many volunteers who were part of the fest come out, and once again donate their time to making a difference in our community. Join us as we meet every week from 6:45pm-8:15pm.

TUESDAY – Join the Rock for Hunger Community
Join the Rock for Hunger community on our new website which will be launched this week. It’s myspace/facebook Rock for Hunger style! Upload pictures from event, videos, join our committees, and much more. Click here to sign up.

WEDNESDAY – Tutors & Meals
Have you gone to our Tutors & Meals program yet? Join Angela from 2pm-6pm at the New Image Youth Center to tutor less fortunate children in the Parramore area. This program takes place Monday-Friday. For more info, send Angela in e-mail to angelagriner@gmail.com.

THURSDAY – 15th Annual UCF Hunger Banquet
One of the events were it all began! It was the 12th Annual Hunger Banquet that inspired myself, Chris Goyzueta, to be part of the solution to poverty and homelessness. A year later, I organized the 13th Annual Hunger Banquet along with the inaugural Rock for Hunger Fest. Then the 14th Annual Hunger Banquet was organized by my beautiful Ms. Rock for Hunger, Kraesly. This has been a very special event to me for the past three years. Make sure to come join us at the 15th Annual Hunger Banquet at UCF at the Pegasus Ballroom in the student union from 6pm-8:30pm.

SATURDAY – Black Ship Sky @ The High Five Festival
Check out the inaugural iRock for Hunger Battle of the Bands winner Black Ship Sky at the High Five Festival in Downtown Orlando right around the corner from the Plaza Theatre, home of Rock for Hunger Fest 3. Visit their myspace for more info: www.myspace.com/blackshipsky.

I like facebook for social networking and keeping in touch with old friends but its no bueno when it comes to discovering bands. I find the layout of myspace to be nauseating so I've been using www.putiton.com to find and follow new music acts.
