A Pot of Gatoroni and a Stack of Hope
>> Wednesday, November 5, 2008
On Monday night, aka election eve, I made my return to the Rock For Hunger Monday night food sharing in Downtown Orlando. This was the first time I made my way over after the Anti-Feeding Ordinance had been lifted and only the second week Rock For Hunger took over Beautiful Lake Eola.
The new setting is the start of a new beginning for Rock For Hunger. With new board members, initiatives, plans and a new community website in the works, Monday night was a ray of hope that everything Chris, myself and the rest of the gang set out to do a few years ago.
Gatoroni
You see, a little ramen noodles inside of a large gatorade container can turn more smiles, thank yous and good times than most of the businesses I deal with on a daily basis. That Gatoroni is the inspiration that I needed to light a fire under my ass and get some of the operations going.
This year has been a year of growing pains for the Rock For Hunger crew. It's been a growing pain year for the US as well. With everything that has happened; the growing unemployment rate, the bailouts, the election, the War in Iraq
