Featured Artist of the Week: FMF Preview
>> Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Alright, so Florida Music Festival can't possibly be a featured artist, but with all of the amazing bands slated to play the three-day event, it's hard to just pick one of them. For those of you who are unfamiliar, Florida Music Festival is a music festival that takes place throughout all of Downtown Orlando from May 15th to May 17th. Over 200 bands play on 12+ stages and even some big (usually washed-up acts) come through to headline the event.
This year, although the main attractions aren't very enticing (Blue Man Group, VonRay, and Pras), Orlando's finest staples are playing at some point, in hopes to swoon not only their friends, but also some record executives.
Some of the performing bands may sound familiar to some of you. Since Rock for Hunger has engulfed the Orlando music scene over the last few years, a lot of the showcasing artists are Rock for Hunger bands. And you won't be surprised to see that a lot of them are "Featured Artist" alums.
Thursday night, May 15th, you will be able to catch the following great artists:
9pm The Aristocracy @ The Social
11pm Baron Von Bear @ Wall Street Plaza
12am Poverty Branch @ Wall Street Plaza
12:30am Afterglow Radio at Central Station Rock Bar
Friday night, May 16th, you may find yourself enthralled with the following acts:
7pm – Chris Burns @ Central Station Rock Bar
9pm – The Secret State @ Central Station Rock Bar
10:30pm – Sugarfreemusic @ Wall Street Plaza
On the final night, May 17th, these astonishing bands will be hitting the stage:
7:30pm Union Made @ Wall Street Plaza
8pm – Woodale @ AKA Lounge
10pm – Daylight District @ CafĂ© Annies
11:30pm – The Fling @ Tanqueray’s
That's it! I hope this is enough information. If you need more information on the festival including directions, ticket prices, or anything else, check out the festival's website at: http://www.fmf2008.com
Hope to see everyone out there!
