Featured Artist of the Week: Munk Tung

Orlando's own Munk Tung doesn't just have an intriguing name, but an appealing style of rock music to go along with it. The band's powerful dose of hard-hitting instrumentation fuse impeccably with the appropriate melodic intensity of the lead vocals. Simply put, Munk Tung is a rock band; and a great one at that.
It is true that Orlando is layered with a plethora of impressive rock bands. You may be overwhelmed by the number of Orlando rock bands that we feature on this blog every week, and rightfully so. Just note that Orlando is a premier breeding ground for talent, especially in the rock field. Munk Tung falls into that category, alongside such "Featured Artist" alums as Backrive, Kessler, Carnevil, and 44Down. Welcome to the prestigious club, Munk Tung.
On the band's MySpace, you can stream five decadent tracks including "Face Me," "Problematic," and "Somebody Else." "Face Me" most resembles Dark New Day, while "Problematic" identifies directly with an American version of Ill Nino. Comparisons aside, however, Munk Tung, is a seasoned rock act that offers a complete helping of in-your-face hard rock music. What more could you ask for?
