Volunteer Opportunities in Orlando

Rock for Hunger has many great volunteer opportunities for our Orlando community in Central Florida. You can start by joining one of our food sharing’s, job training/housing, or Tutors & Meals programs and even take part in a committee. Here are our dates and times for all our programs:

FOOD SHARING’S:
MONDAY – 6:45-8pm
Every Monday we meet at the corner of Magnolia and Washington in Downtown Orlando for our weekly food sharing. This program has been in existence since March of 2007, and continues to run strong each week with sharing of a hot meal, snacks, drinks, and companionship to the homeless in downtown Orlando. COMMITTEE MEETINGS:
Be part of the food sharing committee. They meet every 2nd Monday after the food sharing.

JOB/HOUSING:
WEDNESDAY – 6pm-7:30pm
Join us every 1st and 2nd Wednesday of each month for our Job Training/Housing committee. Help write resumes, and assist with interview skills, setting up mock interviews, sending out resumes, and finding housing for individuals seeking to end their homelessness. TUTORS & MEALS (KIDS PROGRAM)
FRIDAY – 3:30pm-5pm
Every Friday we hold our Tutors & Meals program at the John H. Jackson Center to help children in low income neighborhoods succeed in math and reading, and supply them with all the necessary skills to end their cycle of poverty. CONCERTS:
TUESAY – 6:30pm-7:30pm
Help us plan our concert events for the year including our big Annual Music Festival in November. This committee currently meets every 3rd Tuesday of each month. For more info and how to get involved, e-mail us at: concerts@rockforhunger.org.
