Hailed as one of the hippest and most widely respected bands in all of Florida, The Legendary JC's consists of seven of the finest musicians and entertainers in Central Florida; each with their own unique value and equatable worth in the band. Eugene Snowden, the band's frontman, is arguably the most vibrant stage entertainers since the late-great James Brown. Coincidentally enough, the two share some of the same dance moves on the stage.
The JC's offer some of the most tasteful and hypnotic soul and blues music around today. Their tunes are very reminiscent of the "1960s Motown era" - an era that glorified the art of funky beats paired with smooth and delicate brass instrumentation. My personal favorite track "Lifting Me" would have definitely been something to peak Barry Gordy Jr's interest in 1959. Other notable tracks are "Down this Road Before" and "Luella." All of these songs can be streamed for free on the band's MySpace page.
Each of the members of the JC's have participated in helping out the local community and Rock for Hunger in some way, shape, or form. For those that may not know, the JC's headlined the 2nd Annual Rock for Hunger Music Festival in November. If you were one of the unfortunate souls that missed out on their remarkable performance, you can catch them on Saturday night at the Social with special guests Nervous Turkey and X:144 & SPS.
