Featured Artist of the Week: K-G and the Band

If you are ever out for a night on the town in Orlando, you have probably observed an exuberant and charismatic individual that likes to wear very cool hats. If you are unaware of who this individual is, you are missing out on a great deal. Not only are you deprived of knowing a caring and selfless human being, but that also must mean that you have not heard his music. I genuinely feel sorry for you.
The remarkable individual of which I am speaking of is none other than KG - a human being that deserves to be dubbed the "Coolest person in Orlando." Whether he is charming crowds with his unique and very stylistic wardrobe (which always features his staple fedora hat), winning crowds with his animated passion on stage, or speaking about global peace, K-G is someone who makes a difference in the community in more ways than one.
Although I could ramble on and on about his benevolence and dedication to the world's overall wellbeing, his music is of extreme importance to Rock for Hunger. Songs like "Hakuna" and "Marmaland" literally take the listener "back to Africa." The importance of peace and culture is implemented and publicized in every second of his music. A major highlight of K-G's relationship with Rock for Hunger is his recording of "Rise to the Top" - a song that features R4H Board Member Greg Rollett (aka G-Ro) on vocals. The song was a'[;warded the great honor of "Song of the Year" during November's 2nd Annual Rock for Hunger Music Festival. Check the song out by visiting Rock for Hunger's MySpace.
K-G and the Band's live show is not something to be missed. Maintaining his passion for promoting important issues, K-G will be performing at the iVote event at the University of Central Florida. The event promotes the importance of voting to college students. There is not a performer or local artist that would be better equipped to raise awareness of this issue during this event than K-G and the Band.
Upcoming Schedule:
| iVOTE @ UCF | Orlando, Florida |
- Logan Lenz; Treasurer/ Event Coordinator, Rock For Hunger
"The more we sweat in peace the less we bleed in war."

Any music that can physically transport me several thousand miles just *has* to be good. :p
Mockery of Logan's popular-but-very-wrong use of "literally" notwithstanding, KG and the Band make some damn fine music, and they've been great to RfH.
