The Week in Rock for Hunger (Jan 7th 2008)

Again Happy New Year to Everyone out there! Rock for Hunger had an amazing year in 2007!!! At Rock for Hunger Fest 2 this past November we had an amazing show with Sage Francis, The Legendary JCs, KG & the Band, Social Ghost, Cori Yarckin, Poverty Branch, Fall Term, and many more. We look forward to Rock for Hunger 3 on November 15th 2008. The committee for the festival is currently in its pre planning stages. If you are interested in helping out send a message to Chris at cgoyzueta@rockforhunger.org. Also, our Monday night weekly feedings started in March of last year with feeding 15-20 random homeless individuals in the streets of Downtown Orlando, Florida. Now we are up to 120-150 people served every week with hot food, sandwiches, snacks, drinks, clothes, and more. In September of last year we started our Tutors & Meals after school program which takes place every Friday to help children in low income neighborhoods with math and reading skills.

Music:
We got another year of great music lined up for you, band interviews, and reviews to be posted on this blog. Keep checking to find new music, and hear from your favorite musicians out there.

Job Training Program:
Our Job Training program is kicking off next week, to help the homeless get off the streets, and into low income housing. We need a lot of help with this committee. For more info, and to get involved e-mail Greg at rollettmarketing@yahoo.com or Chris at cgoyzueat@rockforhunger.org.

Teens Program:
We are currently also in the works in helping teens get into college by helping them with essay writing, college applications, SATs, and more. To get involved in this program contact Tristen at tanderson@rockforhunger.org.
