Save Kenya!

Kenya is one of the most beautiful African countries, and one of the biggest African Tourist hot spots. You may know Kenya for its beautiful cultures, lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras, their world famous marathon runners, and if you’re from Orlando, you should have heard of KG & the Band. Kenya is a great democratic country where tourists from all over the world are welcomed. The only struggles you ever hear of from Kenya is their struggle with Malaria. Kenya has been free of violence and terror, despite the struggles of their neighboring countries; Uganda, Sudan, and Ethiopia. Unfortunately that has changed drastically over the past few days.
Over 150 people have been killed, and over 1,000 injured in the past few days. There has been a major struggle after the re-election of President Mwai Kibaki. The elections were rigged robbing the people of their democratic freedom, and another corrupt power hungry African Leader. This election has erupted a battle between tribes, raising the fear of another genocide. People in fear another Rawanda, or Darfur. Check out more details on these tragic events on CNN. Kenya is in extreme need of aid and support to help serve under the true winner of their election, and for a better Kenya.
There are many times when Americans consider themselves of having no Freedom. People complaining about high gas prices, welfare, complaining of being voiceless and many other social issues we are faced with today. It is great that there are so many nonprofits helping the poor, and many others here in the United States. It is so important that we vote, and become aware of who it is that is going to be running our country. People in newly declared democratic countries take true honor in being able to vote for their leaders. Some have a voice for the first time in their lives. There used to be time when Americans took pride in having a voice in their elections as well, and took pride in voting. We are faced with many social issues currently in the United States. However, your voice is always priceless. Let’s help Kenya gain their democratic freedom back, and make sure they continue the development, and progress they have already made. It is important to make sure this country retains its beauty, and its freedom. Save Kenya! For info on how to help Kenya contact our brother KG from KG and the Band at: kgandtheband@yahoo.com.
