the Peace Gathering (1/26/08)

As we remembered the great Martin Luther King Jr. this week, we have to remember to continue his legacy of people standing up for each other in peace, and freedom. It is important always to give back to those who have less than we do. Giving is a part of all spiritual believes. There are many ways to give. You can give an hour of your time, some old clothes laying around the house that you no longer wear, tell your friends about organizations reaching out for those in need, donate funds to an organization you believe in, As the great Martin Luther King said himself “Life's most urgent question is: what are you doing for others?”

With the Florida presidential primaries coming up this week, it is important to remember to vote for leaders who are going to stand up for the people. Be sure to do your research on which candidate you elect as our president, and make sure to vote. Another great quote by Martin Luther King Jr. “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Do not be silent. Our voices matter. Make sure to vote for a president who is going to gain the respect, and do what is best for the people. Vote in the Florida Primaries, and if you’re not registered to vote, make sure you do.
