Featured Artist of the Week: Carnevil

Aside from having a ridiculously cool name for a metal band, Carnevil also happens to be one of the hottest rock bands in Central Florida. Carnevil's ferocious, yet surprisingly soulful and passionate music has permeated through the overwhelmingly saturated state of the local metal scene. Suffice to say, not many bands offer emotion and melody like Carnevil does (others can be unbearable to listen to at times to be completely honest).
Some of their tracks can currently be heard online at their effusive MySpace page. Songs like "Panic Machine" and "Everyday" prove to be solid inculcations of the band's complete skill. The vocals are perfect, the guitars are impressive, and the drumming is spot-on. All in all, there is no weak link or callow member in the lineup.
While their recorded material is great, the band's live shows are definitely something worth noting as well. The live energy that the band conveys during every set would effect even the stoic and the nonagenarians in the crowd. There is just something about a seeing a quality metal band live that forces your adrenaline to escalate to extreme levels.
Check the band out live on January 25th at the Haven and be your own judge. I can guarantee that you will not find much to upbraid about.
