Thanksgiving in Orlando - Rock For Hunger Style
>> Friday, November 23, 2007
Yesterday, Thanksgiving in Orlando, FL, was an awesome experience. This was a first for Rock For Hunger and a great success for not only our organization but also the community. With over 40 volunteers and an estimated 125+ homeless in attendance, this Thanksgiving will be remembered by many! With food ranging from scrambled eggs to oatmeal, bananas to rice, fruit salad to brownies, and more pies than Publix can offer, I can honestly say that this was a feast fit for a king.
Everyone was all smiles and giving thanks for being able to partake in this joyous bright morning. Luckily I had my camera rolling for G-Ro TV. Here are some clips of the new generation of Rock For Hunger Volunteers.
Clip 1: Megan and Kat lent a helping hand this Thanksgiving morning as they took time out of their holiday to help out at Rock For Hunger's Thanksgiving breakfast. Megan was the Oatmeal girl and Kat manned the eggs. Enjoy this little clip about how they heard about Rock For Hunger and their plans for continued involvement. Thank you Kat and Megan.
Clip 2: Here's a quick shot of Laura and Steven from the Rock For Hunger breakfast on Thursday morning in Downtown, Orlando, FL.
Clip 3: This clip features Melissa and Eva Walker, mother and daughter of Orlando, FL. They have been following us online and decided that Thanksgiving was a day for change in our community. They came to the rescue at the end of the feeding with some home baked sweet potato pie to compliment for the eggs running out.
