The Week in Rock for Hunger 11/26/07

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend! Did you get a chance to read our blog below on our first ever Thanksgiving Breakfast for the homeless? It was a really great time. We’ll we have a lot going on this week in Rock for Hunger. Here we go:

It’s our weekly Monday night program to provide meals for the homeless, clothes, and some company. It is always important to build up a person’s resources. Resources don’t have to be financial or even physical things. We are here to build up their mental, and support system resources. By helping them with these resources, they will come one step closer of learning how to break the cycle of homelessness. Come join us to serve those in need in Downtown Orlando. After a week off for Thanksgiving break, we will be back at the Jackson Center to help tutor the kids in low income neighborhoods. Again we are here to help them succeed in school, and build up their mental, physical, and support system resources. We meet at the John H. Jackson Center at 3:30pm to help the kids with reading, fun & games, and make meals for them (Most likely PBJ). For more info contact Chris Goyzueta at cgoyzueta@rockforhunger.org.

6:45pm-7:45pm Meet on the corner of Magnolia & Washington in Downtown.

Friday - Tutors & Meals (Orlando, FL)
3:30pm-5pm at the John H. Jackson Center in Downtown on the corner of Carter St. and Westmoreland Ave.
