Health Care in the United States: A cause of Homelessness

One of the major causes of homelessness in the United States is health care. Over 45 million Americans are without health care. That is a little over 15% of the population. With health care costs on the rise it gets more and more difficult for people to afford going to get treatment, and prescription medication. For those who make the choice to pay for it anyways use up most of their money and resources to pay for health care. It’s an obvious problem in the United States that everyone in the world knows about, and something needs to be done about our health care system. One of the biggest ways to prevent homelessness is to strengthen our health care system. An improved health care system will also strengthen our middle class, and prevent middle class citizens living paycheck to paycheck from falling into poverty, and homelessness.

Pay attention to your Presidential candidates for 2008, and make sure to pay close attention to their health care plans for the future of the United States. It’s a serious problem for the majority of this country. It is not necessary from people to become homeless, or poor, because of a simple problem such as health care. There are many giant super corporations who do not provide health insurance to a lot of their full time staff, and most part time workers, or self-employed individuals can not afford private health insurance. Prices are outrageous and ridiculous. We need to focus on better medical school education, and appreciating our hard working physicians more. A lot of people are afraid to go into the medical field because all these law suits against doctors. Many individuals sue doctors because they can’t afford their medical bill. With an improved health care system, we can keep our good doctors, gain many more qualified professionals, and prevent unnecessary law suits against those who are trying to help save our lives.
