Another Inspiring Evening

>> Tuesday, November 6, 2007

Last night, we conducted another glorious and successful feeding downtown. With less than a week until the concert, the Central Florida Future sent a crew to show what we’ve been doing for nearly a year out to other UCF students, who we encourage to get involved with our young but growing organization. Hopefully the article will be in Wednesday or Friday’s edition of the CFF. We fed over 100 people last night, as is now the norm, with T bringing delicious Potato Casserole, Ravioli, Grilled Potatoes, French Onion Soup, garlic bread, and salad with homemade dressing. She even made a apple crumple desert, which everyone enjoyed. It’s been especially inspiring for me lately, with more and more of my friends getting tickets to the show and coming out on Mondays. I think helping others really is like a drug in a certain sense, as giving to others is addicting, and once people come out here once they continue to come every Monday. The camaraderie and friendship between the volunteers and the people we feed is great to see, as the line between being homeless and being a volunteer is blurred and eventually discarded altogether, and we all simply enjoy one another’s company as human beings. It’s a sight to see for sure.

One Love,
Ben Bergholtz
